State of the Project¶
The mission of CF Dev is to provide a small-scale incarnation of Cloud Foundry, but on a local development environment. The product is much like what Minikube is for Kubernetes.
As of right now, the project has been spun down, with 0 engineers currently being allocated. The decision was not made lightly. Ultimately it came down its resource requirements no longer being suitable for neither the local use-case, that it was intended for, nor for streamlined maintenance. These docs can be referred to for anyone needing to resurrect the product.
What is PCF Dev?
PCF Dev refers to the previous product (by the same team) that satisfied the same use-case. However, the architecture decisions of PCF Dev made it hard to keep up to date with Cloud Foundry versions. CF Dev was created as its successor.
